Last year’s event marked the official launch of edie’s Mission Possible campaign to empower sustainable business. And, as our preview edie Live 2019 will testify, that Mission has only just begun…

Keynote and seminars

The SUSTAINABILITY KEYNOTE THEATRE will provide the strategic insights to transform business, for good. On Day One, the Keynote Theatre will see thought-leaders discuss and debate the likes of green policy, ‘net-zero’ ambitions and new business models. Day Two then takes a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) theme, with various sustainability experts revealing how they are aligning with the SDGs to make their business a force for good.

Running alongside the Keynote will be three practical, CPD-certified seminar theatres, based on the key industry themes of ENERGY, the CIRCULAR ECONOMY and INNOVATION. The seminars will be led by an array of expert speakers, with session titles including ‘The big energy behaviour change debate’‘How to make your business a resource efficiency leader’; and ‘Innovation in energy: Embracing the chaotic revolution’.

Other show features (click the links for more info)

FUTURE SYSTEMS HACKATHON – A brand-new, live, 24-hour hackathon will unite edie’s audience of energy and sustainability managers with our sister title Utility Week’s audience of utilities industry professionals – along with teams of hackers and tech experts – to solve real-world problems and accelerate the shift towards future business systems. Topics being ‘hacked’ include big energy data and flexible energy systems.

EV SHOWROOM – Our EV Showroom returns for 2019 to showcase electric vehicles (EVs) and charging stations, bringing to life how electric vehicles can be implemented by businesses and help reduce carbon footprint as part of a sustainability strategy.

PLASTICS HUB – Our hugely popular Mission Possible Plastics Hub content is coming to life. Over the two days, edie Live will house a dedicated area for industry professionals to connect with one another, share circular economy ideas, meet packaging solutions providers, and discover ground-breaking plastic waste innovations. Designed by edie’s editorial team, this special area of the show will include single-use plastics roundtable discussions, packaging solutions stands and a professionally facilitated live plastics ‘thinkathon’.

ADVICE CLINICS – One of our most popular offerings, the edie Live advice clinics return for 2019, allowing visitors free 20-minute, one-to-one consultations with experts across a full range of sustainability and energy topics that are material to their business.

MISSION POSSIBLE WORKSHOPS – Another popular feature of 2019, our Mission Possible Workshops provide visitors with a unique opportunity to collaborate with peers to solve the key challenges and opportunities they are facing in their mission to achieve a sustainable future. Starting with a blank sheet of paper, pre-allocated groups will discuss the issues that we face, share ‘war stories’ and work together to create a unique solution to the topic. Workshops were fully booked last year so register early to secure your spot.

THE MISSION POSSIBLE SOFA – Join the edie editorial team for some well-earned sofa talk as we interview a range of industry experts on key sustainability and themes – live on camera in a talk-show style. Watch last year’s Mission Possible Sofa episodes here.

CO-LOCATION WITH UTILITY WEEK LIVE – As an additional draw for edie Live visitors, our sister show Utility Week Live will explore the tech and product solutions transforming the way gas, water and electricity utilities do business.
